European Criminal Law Review (EuCLR)
About
This English-language journal focuses on the development of European criminal law and judicial cooperation in criminal matters within the European Union. The Lisbon Treaty brought important changes in this regard and poses significant challenges for criminal law scholarship and practice in the future.
The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for comprehensive discussion and critical debate on all issues relating to European criminal law. It contains articles and relevant materials on topics such as harmonization of the criminal law of the member states with regard to European legal instruments, the enforcement of the principle of mutual recognition in the field of judicial cooperation in criminal matters and the creation of new law enforcement institutions (such as the European Public Prosecutor’s Office), as well as the emergence of a balanced European criminal law policy based on fundamental rights, freedom and democracy, with particular reference to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights.
