New specialised module “Data and information law” at beck-online

Neues Fachmodul „Daten- und Informationsrecht“ bei beck-online

Comprehensive expertise in data protection, data management, information/IT security and freedom of information law bundled in new module from August

As of 1 August, Nomos Verlag is expanding its digital offering on beck-online with the new specialist module “Data and Information Law”. At a time when the handling of data is becoming increasingly complex and relevant, the module offers a valuable resource for data protection officers, IT security officers, in-house lawyers and anyone who deals with the protection and processing of data in a professional capacity.

The new module covers the areas of data protection, data management, information/IT security law and freedom of information law and bundles in-depth knowledge in commentaries and manuals by leading experts. In addition to the comprehensive, quarterly updated documentation on data protection with the most important German, European and international standards as well as interpretation aids from the authorities, the module also offers the monthly case law service “NomosAktuell Daten- und Informationsrecht“.

The highlights of the new specialised module include: “Dokumentation zum Datenschutz mit Informationsfreiheitsrecht” by Spiecker/Bretthauer, the “Big Data” handbook by Borges/Keil, the Nomos commentary on the GDPR by Simitis/Hornung/Spiecker, the “DS-GVO/BDSG” hand commentary by Sydow/Marsch and the “IT-Sicherheitsrecht” handbook by Hornung/Schallbruch.

In addition, the module offers practical overviews and regulations on the new Data Governance Act, data protection on the internet, the protection of personal data in the cloud and comprehensive explanations of sector-specific data protection law and the specific state data protection laws.

We have been able to massively expand our programme in the area of ‘Data and Information Law’ in recent years, and a lot of content will be published in the coming months. The creation of a corresponding module is therefore a logical and important step towards strengthening Nomos’ digital presence. The module supports professionals in mastering the various legal challenges in dealing with data.
