Nomos Verlag co-operates with Open Publishing

Expansion of sales channels since the beginning of 2024

Nomos Verlag initiated a partnership with Open Publishing at the beginning of 2024 that significantly expands the distribution channels for the electronic scientific content of the Nomos eLibrary. This cooperation gives Nomos access to new channels, including B2C markets and smaller international platforms. The aim is to extend the reach of Nomos’ high-quality publications and its imprints and make them accessible to a global readership.

With Open Publishing, we have found a partner that enables us to distribute our excellent scientific content in an innovative way and to open up new markets. This strategic decision reaffirms our commitment to a fair market and at the same time strengthens our digital presence.

Thomas Gottlöber , Managing Director of Nomos Verlag

The partnership gives Nomos the flexibility to explore new distribution channels while utilising the established digital platforms of Open Publishing. This includes not only digital distribution, but also the implementation of innovative marketing strategies to increase the visibility of the publications.

Open Publishing, known for its innovative solutions in the field of digital distribution, supports Nomos in developing new target groups through specialised distribution channels. Although Nomos focuses primarily on distribution, both partners benefit from Open Publishing’s extensive expertise in the areas of title management, online marketing, author billing and campus licences.

The partnership marks an important step in Nomos Verlag’s distribution strategy and emphasises its goal of making academic content available worldwide and driving innovation in academic publishing.

The Nomos eLibrary, an association of over 50 independent quality publishers, offers convenient access to first-class academic publications in fields such as law, politics, economics, media and communication research, history, sociology, education and culture, Europe, health, philosophy, religion, social work, linguistics and literature, theology and psychology.
